Jim Wooten


Jim Wooten is the author of We Are All the Same: A Story of a Boy’s Courage and a Mother’s Love. He was a national reporter and foreign correspondent for ABC News for more than twenty years, contributing to World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Nightline, Good Morning America, and others. During his career, he filed from more than 80 countries on a variety of assignments ranging from war and revolution to famine and flood as well as covering eight presidential campaigns and 16 national nominating conventions. He has been on the staff of Esquire, written for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and served as a bureau chief, national correspondent and White House correspondent for The New York Times. Wooten has won numerous awards for his work, including several Emmys, the John Chancellor Award for Excellence in Journalism, two Robert F. Kennedy Awards, and the Ernie Pyle Award for combat reportage.
