Rory Carroll


Veteran journalist and former chief of the Latin American bureau for The Guardian, Rory Carroll has covered war zones, survived a kidnapping in Iraq, and reported on the transition to full democracy in South Africa. Now in California, he was stationed in Caracas for the research and writing of Comandante: Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela. His wife is a native Venezuelan.
