Timothy Snyder


Timothy Snyder is Professor of History at Yale University. He received his doctorate from the University of Oxford and has held fellowships in Paris, Vienna, Warsaw, and Harvard. His book Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin was selected as a best book of the year by The EconomistThe New Republic, and The Guardian. Four of his previous books have received awards, including the George Louis Beer Prize for The Reconstruction of Nations and the Pro Historia Polonorum for Sketches from a Secret War. He is also the author of Thinking the Twentieth Century, with Tony Judt. He lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
